Detecting Macular Degeneration
Our doctors use a visual acuity test and a dilated exam to check on the health of the retina at each routine exam. Through these tests, they are able to determine if there is the start of any damage to the macula.
Macular Degeneration is an age-related condition that affects the area of the retina that allows for clear central vision. Patients who suffer from macular degeneration have blind spots in the center of their vision.
If you are diagnosed with macular degeneration, we will refer you to a retinal specialist who will treat the condition and help preserve your vision.
